InTune Introduction

A message from our CEO

Hello and welcome to our first edition of InTune! We want to take this opportunity to update you on the many new developments that have taken place at Attunity in recent months and tell you about our exciting plans for the upcoming year.

Over the last 17 years, we have developed an enviable track record and reputation for customer service, excellence and technological innovation in the world of enterprise-class application and data integration software. Thanks to our wonderful customers and partners, this journey has been rewarding and fulfilling in many ways.

We are now entering what we think will be an exciting second phase of our development.

Software vendors have spent the last 20 years automating and streamlining the routine process-driven activities inside an organization to achieve efficiencies. Yet the focus on process and efficiency has failed to address the other, potentially more important activities that take place inside a company’s four walls: the people-driven activities (or management actions), which give a company its competitive advantage.

In our lead article, ‘Welcome to the Next-Generation Workplace’, we discuss the new, emerging category of software applications that aims to capture the intellectual capital, experience and actions of people in an organization. They are called workplace applications and Attunity is at the forefront of delivering them.

In ‘The Interview Chair’ we will be talking - each issue - to a leading industry figure to find out the latest trends, opinions and developments in the workplace applications and data integration markets. In this issue, Attunity’s VP of Global Marketing, Andy Bailey, explains what distinguishes workplace applications from previous software categories.

We demonstrate how workplace applications work in practice in our ‘Focus on the Workplace’ case study. This explores how one of the world’s largest privately owned commodity traders, Balli, is using our management workplace applications platform, Attunity InFocus, to improve the overall profitability of its trading deals.

Our transition into the workplace applications arena does not mean we have abandoned our heritage in enterprise and data integration software. We continue to develop our Attunity Integration Suite and in our ‘Data at your Fingertips’ article, we explore the benefits of Change Data Capture and our latest addition to the Attunity Stream portfolio, the SSIS CDC Accelerator.

Each InTune edition will highlight one of our data integration customers to share examples of Attunity solutions and the impact on the customer's business. In this issue, our featured customer is JM Family Enterprises, the largest private diversified automotive company in the US and the 17th largest privately-held company in America. The article highlights how JM Family is using the Attunity Integration Suite to access real-time actionable data, improve its marketing programs and reduce costs.

Enjoy the read and do let us know what you think at marketing@attunity.com as we value your feedback.

Wishing you a healthy and prosperous 2007,

Aki Ratner, CEO
