Over the last few years, demand for business intelligence (BI) grew rapidly and continues to be a top priority for both business and IT leaders operating in today’s economic climate. More and more, BI has become essential to sense and respond to changing market conditions, improve operational efficiencies and increase revenues.
Focusing on provisioning data for BI, we at Attunity have listened and worked closely with our customers to understand their objectives. I want to take this opportunity to share with you three important trends that we have observed. First, BI is becoming ubiquitous. It’s required by everyone throughout the organization and therefore needs to be seamlessly accessible whenever and wherever it’s needed. Second, real-time BI has become a key requirement as BI permeates daily operations and business processes. And third, self-service BI, made possible by such applications as Microsoft PowerPivot, has emerged as a means to bring BI to the masses while reducing the load on the IT organization.
We have further learned that addressing these trends requires making operational data available for BI in real-time, across a range of databases and platforms. Encouraged by our customers demand, we focused on bringing to market high performance data integration products for many data sources, as well as real-time data replication solutions that offload data from production systems to reduce impact and increase availability.
