THE UPTAKE OF WINDOWS DRIVES AIS 5.0.3

THE NEW BETA RELEASE OF ATTUNITY INTEGRATION SUITE DELIVERS FURTHER VALUE TO MICROSOFT WINDOWS USERS, SAYS ITAMAR ANKORION, DIRECTOR OF PRODUCT MARKETING

The rapid adoption of 64bit Windows and SQL Server 2005 in the enterprise lies behind the enhancements in Attunity Integration Suite 5.0.3.

The Attunity Integration Suite (AIS) dramatically simplifies access and integration to enterprise information systems, specializing in data sources and legacy applications ranging from Windows to Mainframe. In the latest beta update, AIS 5.0.3, Attunity is delivering additional value to the Microsoft Windows platform with native support for 64bit editions of Windows XP and Windows Server 2003, support for Windows Vista, and change data capture for SQL Server 2005.

Support for 64bit Windows

AIS has been certified with Windows XP and Windows Server 2003, running on both the x64 and IA64 (Itanium) Windows platforms. This means that our existing 32bit AIS server now runs seamlessly under WOW (Windows on Windows) on the 64bit Windows platforms.

Perhaps more importantly, we have ported our 64bit AIS server to run natively on the 64bit Windows platforms. This allows users to leverage the full power of 64bit Windows and enjoy the performance gains this delivers. It also provides support for generic features in AIS – such as procedure driver, LegacyPlug, database adapter and query adapter – and connectivity to SQL Server 2005 and Oracle running on the platform.

In addition, we have enhanced support for 64bit applications that need to interface with AIS by providing a new 64bit thin ODBC client running on Windows platforms. This means that users in a 64bit Windows environment will be able to enjoy the performance gains and increased efficiencies of an architecture entirely based on 64bit Windows, alongside the other capabilities within AIS.

Certification for Windows Vista

In January, the much-awaited new operating system from Microsoft, Windows Vista, was launched to great fanfare. Attunity is keeping up to speed with the adoption of Vista in the marketplace by offering certification with Windows Vista for our 32bit AIS server.

Change Data Capture (CDC) SQL Server 2005

In the last 3 years we’ve seen growing demand for real-time data integration and have enhanced our CDC product line, Attunity Stream, to accommodate these requirements. As part of those efforts, last year, we released our CDC for SQL Server 2000, which provides non-invasive and log-based CDC. In light of the rapid adoption and increased demand for SQL Server 2005, we have responded to customer feedback and extended support for CDC to SQL Server 2005. As a result, we now support CDC for both 32bit and 64bit SQL Server 2005 databases.
